Polypropylene is used both as a thermoplastic (e.g.: food boxes) and as fiber (e.g.: indoor and outdoor flooring).

Like polyethylene, PP is versatile. It is used both as thermoplastic and as fiber. It is often used in the automotive industry to manufacture the trim of the passenger compartment such as the dashboard, but also to make carpets. Polypropylene is doubtlessly the plastic that is the most complex to recycle, all the more so when it is printed or mixed with certain additives.

Uses: automotive (bumpers, dashboards, door panels), food packaging, textile (upholstery fabric, disposable professional clothing…), banknotes (Australia, Mexico…)
